Won Kim’s enthusiastic pursuit of career in the construction industry has led to study and work experience in three countries; the UK, Korea and now New Zealand, in a role of quantity surveyor for Prendos.
After completing both a Bachelor of Business Studies (property management and valuation) and a graduate Diploma in Technology (construction and quantity surveying) in New Zealand, Won has taken his professional study of quantity surveying one step further by completing a Master of Science graduation programme in the UK for prospective RICS registration.
Currently his tasks at Prendos include monthly payment valuation for multi stories apartment recladding projects, contract administration such as dealing with variations, right through to settling final accounts for number of projects for ministry of education.
For residential clients, Won offers various services from providing estimates at design stages, carrying out progress reports durin construction, and also providing reports for adjudication purposes for clients facing disputes.
Prior to joining Prendos, Won has worked at Davis Langdon in South Korea where he was exposed to multi-million projects such as new fitting out of millennium Hilton Hotel to the highest Hilton standards, construction of high-rise apartments.
Furthermore NZ client’s projects such as NZ Ministry of Foreign Affairs for fitting out of their new embassy & construction of ambassador’s new residence which he regards to be most memorable experience having been able to capitalise on his local knowledge for maximum benefit to the client.
