Willy is a Senior Structural Technician with over 40 years’ experience in the industry. His role involves working with Structural Engineers and Architects to prepare Structural Models, Drawings and Details for projects; maintaining and updating the Prendos Structural Drafting Template and Library; and – as a senior member of the team – managing and mentoring other Drafters and Engineers.
After leaving school, Willy took up an Apprenticeship as a Civil Engineering Technician; part of which meant training as a Structural Draftsman. Since then, his career has seen him work on many large projects across the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Highlights include acting as Structural Draftsman/Supervisor for a number of large wharf developments for London Docklands Development Council, and working with a crack team of drafters and engineers to survey, design, engineer, draft and ultimately monitor the construction of a vast array of structures for the upgrade of Shell Pernis Oil Refinery in the Netherlands.
Willy believes good communication between all disciplines on a project is key, and works thoroughly and accurately to ensure the structural input is always accurate and well executed.
