Based in Christchurch, Rory brings a comprehensive knowledge of the property and construction industry to the role of Director, and enjoys the challenge of identifying and developing new services to meet market demand throughout the Wellington Region and the South Island.

Rory monitors regional commercial activity, workflow delivery and staff development, and meets the needs of South Island clients through the delivery of Prendos’ multi-disciplinary skillset. He has established a reputation for understanding complex issues particularly in the aftermath of the Canterbury and Kaikoura earthquake events.

Originally from Ireland, Rory spent six years in London with a prominent European property consultancy where he acquired and consolidated a broad range of commercially orientated building surveying skills before setting up and running his own property consultancy in Ireland for a period of nine years.

Practising as a Chartered Building Surveyor in three different countries provides Rory with a unique property consultancy skillset. Rory applies his diverse range of professional experience in managing a team ranging from quantity surveyors, structural engineers, building surveyors and design consultants in the day-to-day delivery of advice to a portfolio of residential and commercial clients which include the Ministry of Education, City Councils, insurance companies and their PMOs, and owners of commercial property portfolios.

Currently, the majority of Rory’s time involves assisting with insurance claim settlements, and as project manager and engineer to contract on weathertightness and earthquake repair projects with ranging values of up to $4 million. On each project Rory acts as client liaison, focusing on delivery in line with clients expectations. Rory is also busy with lease reinstatement and technical due diligence for those acquiring commercial property. Most recently Rory is becoming more involved in expert witness type work, a trend that which will grow as the rebuild continues.
